What do you like best about Avigilon Unity?

The website has a lot of information about the brand and the products that Unity provide. Additionally it provides documentation as well as resources for both existing and new customers who are interested in using the products.

The system is easy to set up and use.

What do you dislike about Avigilon Unity?

Take in customer suggestions on what potential features that customers are hoping to have in the products. There may be some frustrations with the survillence due to the lack of certain features.

What problems is Avigilon Unity solving and how is that benefiting you?

Video surveillance around work enviornment to provide security footage.

What do you like best about Avigilon Unity?

Very user-friendly client. Nice features that allow for complex video searching. When I train my soc operators, my rule is we no longer watch hours of unnecessary video but use one of the many search features available and should find what we need in under 5 minutes. The analytics feature sets help us build complex rules to correlate with alarms we set up for each of our unique sites we have to eliminate lots of "unnecessary alarms".

What do you dislike about Avigilon Unity?

I don't have many downsides with ACC. Still, if I were to be picky, it would be nice if there was a way to create an analytic event rule to automatically provide a pre-recorded talk-down message when specific criteria were met. Currently using an Avigilon IP speaker, all talk-down features are manual, which is ok for us as we have a 24-hour SOC.

What problems is Avigilon Unity solving and how is that benefiting you?

With proper placement of cameras, ACC can solve having physical security personnel on each of our sites. With the use of Avigilon intercoms, we can also assist with our sites at remote locations and can communicate effectively if needed when we have sites integrated with ACM (Access Control Manger) we can allow delivery personnel to place packages in a building all while watching via CCTV. With that case, we no longer have packages being left outside, unsecured or stolen from our property.

What do you like best about Avigilon Unity?

Simple to use, once set up, and reliable.

What do you dislike about Avigilon Unity?

Set-up and interface are a little clunky.

What problems is Avigilon Unity solving and how is that benefiting you?

This provides easy management of users for building access within our school district. It also allows for management of camera access for various users with different permission levels. The integration with our security cameras provides easy access control for building monitors as well.

What do you like best about Avigilon Unity?

Friendly and intuitive UI, tabbed views, auto-login capability (caching of credentials), configurable inactivity auto-logout timer per user account, granular user/group permissions, and tons of other features make this one of the best VMS (Video Management System) software solutions in the industry. Supports ONVIF, which is especiallly appreciated in this era of cloud-native camera solutions that are 100% proprietary... they aren't quick to tell you that, lol!

What do you dislike about Avigilon Unity?

Software upgrades are a bit cumbersome unless done via ACS (Avigilon Cloud Services). We do get some flickering and brief pixelations and other graphical corruptions, but we also funnel many locations over a site-to-site VPN thru the internet and back to a hub site where the big NVR lives, so that's mostly our fault (most manufacturers don't support this network architecture, although in-house WAN is fully supported).

What problems is Avigilon Unity solving and how is that benefiting you?

We have a lot of tools and other semi-valuable items that are growing feet and walking off, of course with no one seeing anything. We also have several physical break-ins per year across our several locations, which previously went unsolved without video evidence. We also have people not doing the right on safety, which in our industry can and does cost lives in worst-cases. We're not trying to be the "gotchya!" guys but use video for safety reviews -- think do's and don't's.

What do you like best about Avigilon Unity?

I used ACC based on a client operation. ACC has many features that allow get video and integrate video analytics from Avigilon cameras or third-party ones. ACC includes the availability to replicate complex rules for alarms that are used in several real-life scenarios.

What do you dislike about Avigilon Unity?

I don´t have any dislike. However, I wish video retrieval via RTSP was available. This feature is helpful in scenarios where URL-based video isn't available. However I understand that this feature may not be available because of security purposes.

What problems is Avigilon Unity solving and how is that benefiting you?

ACC helped me use different types of cameras based on their features and models. I was pretty impressed with the camera compatibility list that Avigilon offers, so you may not have any problems in most cases. Also, the allowance to use built-in video analytics is beneficial. However, using the latest ACC version is recommended for better results.
