What do you like best about scite.ai?

The assistant saves so much time during literature reviews and the ability to customize the response (number of sources, response length) allow you to tailor the output to exactly what you are looking for, whether it is a brief summary of current literature or a deep dive.

What do you dislike about scite.ai?

Sometimes the literature review doesn't deliver the exact results I am expecting (e.g. missing a key paper I manually identified), so some iterating of the prompt is required.

What problems is scite.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?

Literature reviews for biomedical research. Research paper search engines like pubmed can be sensitive to the exact key words and often yield too many results or miss key papers. Literature reviews using scite.ai are more intuitive because you can provide sentences to describe a topic rather than keywords.

What do you like best about scite.ai?

I have been using scite primarily for figuring out which citations are favoring a particulr paper and which are opposing. For this use case, scite is excellent, and has no competition. It is easy to use, which is definitely a major positive. Their customer support is also very responsive.

What do you dislike about scite.ai?

The AI Assistant can be made much better. I used it a few times and found that the statements that it is attributing to papers are not 100% accurate. In my testing, it did not hallucinate about a paper (i.e. did not create a paper that did not exist), which is a big positive. Also, I like the fact that the Scite Assistant is rather customizable in terms of how many articles, types of articles. As far as I understand, scite Assistant is NOT doing semantic search though. It would have been nice to have some kind of a semantic search option built, that would make this tool even more powerful.

What problems is scite.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?

I am an academic. For me, it is a great time-saver. I can quickly figure out how many citations are actually supportive/contradictory (surprisingly few in general for any paper). Saves me the time and effort to trawl through all the forward citations of the paper.

What do you like best about scite.ai?

This tool speeds up the writing process enormously, where I would previously have to search the paper archives with key words, it gives me summaries and links to the relevent papers very quickly. The whole process becomes much more efficient and researchers are less likely to overlook a relevent paper.

What do you dislike about scite.ai?

I had to test it before I could trust it, but it has been performing well so far.

I'm performing scientific research and writing up the results.

What do you like best about scite.ai?

I really enjoy using scite.ai, particularly the Assistant feature. While it could benefit from a better contextual understanding of some of my searches, the resources it finds for my queries are generally phenomenal. I appreciate being able to adjust the settings to receive long, medium, or short responses. The reference list that is generated when I copy the text makes creating my bibliography incredibly easy.

What do you dislike about scite.ai?

Although scite.ai has already passed its foundational stage, I wish there was an option to purchase a lifetime subscription. Nevertheless, the 40% discount when subscribing yearly is incredibly generous. I also use Afforai.com, but it doesn’t compare in terms of functionality and relevance of the responses generated by scite.ai. Access to Semantic Scholar, which can connect to full articles to provide more depth to the query response, would be helpful. While I understand that it would require a lot of AI power to read through full-length texts to answer questions asked to the Assistant, it would make things much easier.

I'm a mental health writer and must rely on credible and science-backed information to write articles that inform and educate audiences for my clients. With Assistant, I can trust the sources, and I can explore various aspects of the topic or connect dots of research pointing to helpful solutions for people wanting to know about mental health or managing their condition.

although scite.ai does not hallucinate like other AI tools, it does not provide a complete answer to a question

What problems is scite.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?

before knowing about scite.ai, i used to waste so much time first finding papers, and then sciting them correctly. Scite.ai saves me from doing all of that.
